Create a Form via Upload

One of easiest ways to create a form within Solodev is to simply upload the form in its raw HTML. Once the form is uploaded to Solodev, you can then assign it to a datatable and use it in both the frontend and backend.

Step 1 - Create Your Form's Code

Open up the text editor of your choice and create all of the necessary fields you want your form to have. You can save this file as "form-template.tpl".

Below is an example of a sample Form Template used to collect information from visitors to a website.

<h2>Tell us about yourself</h2>
<div class="form-group">
  <label for="name">Your Name</label>
  <input id="name" name="name" placeholder="Your Name*" required type="text">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
  <label for="email">Your Email</label>
  <input id="email" name="email" placeholder="Your Email*" required type="text">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
  <label for="company">Your Company</label>
  <input id="company" name="company" placeholder="Company Name*" required type="text">
</div>
<div class="form-group">
  <label for="phone">Your Phone</label>
  <input id="phone" name="phone" placeholder="Phone Number*" required type="text">
</div>
<input type="submit" name="submit">

Step 2 - Upload Your Form

Once your form is created and saved to your local machine, you can upload it to Solodev for use. Navigate to the area in Solodev where you would like to upload your form and click Add then File

The "Add File" prompt will now show. Click on the "Browse Folder" icon next to the "Name" field.

In the popup that appears, click on Browse. Find the form file you saved and click Submit.

Your form will now appear in the designated folder. You have successfully uploaded your form.
