Modules in Solodev

The role of a Module in Solodev is to store data and control how said data is displayed on your website. The two main areas in which a Modules shows its data include: (1) on a page in which all entries are displayed (repeater page) and (2) a page in which further details of a specific entry are displayed (detail page). By defining each of the templates of these pages you can customize which entries are included, how the entries' information is displayed, and what information you want to be shown.

Datatables

Datatables are database dependent applications that can be formatted for display in a variety of ways on a number of devices. The most common use of datatables in Solodev is the creation and management of web forms that involve users interacting with form field(s) requiring data submission and retrieval. Mobile apps can also be powered using datatables and the Solodev API.

When you create a form using the table schema or the form builder application, a database table is dynamically created, as well as a grid to view and interact with the data. You can also upload an HTML template. This is recommended if you need a more custom or complicated form.

Calendars

Calendars are a type of "Module" built on top of Solodev datatable functionality that can be modified to create date-based custom applications. Calendars can be used to build an unlimited number of custom web and mobile applications.

With Solodev you don't need to code a form in order to develop calendar-driven applications. Once you create your form using the table schema or the form builder application, a database table is dynamically created, as well as a grid for you to view and interact with your data. You can also upload an HTML template. This is recommended if you need a more custom or complicated form.

Category Groups

A datatable category group is a group of categories that can be applied to manager entries. This allows you to categorize all of the data in your Solodev deployment with ease. For example, category groups allow you to organize different events around a common theme, create a series of news or blog items about a subject, and otherwise allow you to categorize any of your custom datatable entries.
